7.3 Power Stroke Lifter Orientation? Please Help.

Hello all. I am new to this forum and have a question about the lifters in the 7.3 PS. I am in the middle of a rebuild and am ready to put the lifters in. The only problem is that after looking at the lifter I see that there is a notch with an oil hole. My question is where is the hole supposed to face, toward the center of the cylinder (towards each other) or towards the sides of the cylinder (away from each other)? Thank you all for your time and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

I'm not familiar with the internals on the 7.3 engine, but if there's no locking bar or other device to keep the lifters from spinning, they will turn slowly on their own as the cam moves them. That's a good thing as it spreads the wear around.

The lifters in The 7.3 are roller hydraulic lifters. They do have a retainer, but the lifter can be put in two ways. Also, these lifters do not turn, if a roller lifter would turn in the bore it would wipe out the lobe on the cam. But thanks for your insight.
