Looking to upgrade.

Hey people, I have a '95 OBS powerstroke and it has been a POS ever since I bought it. Problem after problem. Now, before all the hate mail starts, I know this is not common for either the F250 or the International 7.3. After I bought the truck I did find out it was used in the oil fields and there was a reason why I got her cheap. But it has cost more in parts than what it is worth.

I was looking at newer trucks this past week and drove a Duramax. Real nice truck and as I was looking it over I realized I had no idea about repairs on the thing where as I know the 7.3 pretty damn well because of my current truck. I decided that it would probably be better to stick with something I know and have all the literature for instead of starting fresh.

But, I found a 2000 F-250 ext. cab long bed powerstroke 4x2 with the 6 speed manual transmission that I am thinking of upgrading to. The truck has 240K miles on it but the pictures look like it's been treated pretty well. I haven't seen the truck in person yet, it's 3 hours away but I am going there this week.

Just looking for any and all info what is different for the 2000 than my '95? I know the waste gate, does the '00 have an intercooler? Down pipe 3" stock or is it like my '95? What are the power gains and improvements between the 2 years?

Any info that you guys want to sharte would be great. Looking forward to a better truck and just would like to be prepared before I buy it.

OK, I'll start with the first question.

My '95 is stock 4x2 with the 5 speed manual.
I can imagine the fuel mileage would be better with the 6 speed on the hwy. The 2000 is stock also.

What are you guys seeing for fuel mileage? My driving will be 90% Hwy driving at 75 - 80 mph.
