DIY Intake help?

I'm looking for a little guidance from someone who has done the DIY Intake. I plan on installing this mod on my truck tomorrow, but I'm not sure what to do with the filter gauge on the stock intake box. Does the gauge need to be removed from the box and left plugged in to electrical or can I just disconnect the wiring to the gauge and tie it up out of the way along with the temp. sensor? Also, once the DIY Intake is installed, is there any noticable difference in turbo whistle? I would greatly appreciate any feedback I can get!

I tied mine out of the way and my turbo went from silent to a nice little wissle when cruzing to screaming when pulling a load up next, exhaust!
