Best Gauges (Not Autometer)
Who makes a good quality gauge kit???
I purchased the Autometer kit 7072 that had a triple pod with tranny, boost, and EGT but what JUNK!!!!!!! the light bulb assembly piece had 2 break out of the 3, this stuff is so brittle, JUNK!!!! I called Autometer because I had just the one that had broken they are sending a replacement but tonight I was making all the wiring harnesses and then another broke ![]() ![]() I'm pee'd off right now, so who else makes a kit that is NOT JUNK?????? |

Autometer's are not junk.
The Z series gauges you bought are the cheapest, entry level gauges they sell. It sucks that they broke on you. Maybe you can return then and upgrade to a higher end gauge they sell. The higher end autometers are quite nice. |

Re: Best Gauges (Not Autometer)
I've been using the same Sport Comp monster tach since 1998! I went all Sport Comp in my '67 about 10 years ago, and I use Sport Comp EGT and fuel psi in my 2003 6.0. Nearly 15 years and when my EGT failed, they sent me a new one. As in $200 gauge.
I'm sorry you've had issues, but that's the price you pay for entry level components. I'll never run anything but Auto Meter in my hot rods. Sent from my LG-VS700 using AutoGuide.Com Free App |

I had an issue with my autometer ultralight trans gauge. Contacted autometer and they sent me a new one. Good customer service.

Well hopefully I don't have anymore problems. If I do I will think about switching to another company.

Hopefully you will not, but for me I'm going to get the Isspro kit
