Wanna remove Edge tuner

So I am new to PSD's and this is only my second post but have been doing a lot of reading. I have been searching and have read numerous post stating to get rid of the Edge tuner and get something else. Is there any issues with me just unplugging it and pulling it from the truck. Only mods truck has is a full 4" turbo back, and an Airraid intake, and the edge. I plan on getting trans temp gauge, pyro, and boost gauges to keep an eye on things. I have been searching for a better tuner but there are so many options I might just leave the truck stock.

make sure its set back to stock. im not to familiar with edge but i know if you put an sct back to stock and unplug it your truck will be stock and ready for a different chip.

if your lookin for a tuner i have beans tunes and love them, i would highly recommend them to anybody. if youd like further details on them (boost #'s egts ect.) just let me know. i would also like to add that if money isnt an issue then getting a chip with a custom tuners tunes on the chip is one of the best things you can do for the truck performance wise.

I haven't messed with the tuner I'll do some homework before I just unplug it. I was running it the Drive setting and mileage and that's. Been driving the truck easy and last night the OD light flashed a few times shut truck off and it did not come back trans is what I feel holding the gear to long. The trans was rebuilt about 6k miles and is under warranty and I have read that the Edge programmers are hard on transmissions. So I wanna get rid of it have the trans looked at and start fresh.

What model of Edge is it? If it is a programmer, just flash back to stock. If it is an Edge Juice just disconnect it.

We can get you setup with a chip and some custom tunes if you are interested.

Thanks Justin it is an older model I am sure it is just an plain Edge tuner. Like I said gonna get it removed, have the trans looked at, get some gauges then look at tunes. I want to be able to monitor whats going on first.

is it the edge evolution that plugs in under the dash? or one that is permanetly mounted?

I am going to see today I know there is a black box under the hood for it. Ill drop the panel under the steering wheel and check.
