Zoodad mod question

Hey guys,
Sorry, but I'm a little confused.
I always thought that the zoodad mod was a good thing. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't have an aftermarket CAI yet. My plan is for an AFE stage 2.....but that is in the future. So I thought I would do the ZooDad mod to help my stock air intake.
A friend mentioned that it's not a good mod to do if I am running a stock air intake. Something about pressurizing the stock air box??????
I don't know....I kinda thought that with the stock setup I'd really improve my air intake with the ZooDad mod until I can get the AFE installed. Then with the AFE, I'd have the cold air comin' in. Win, Win situation

Thoughts anyone.
Stock box......Do the mod or don't do it.
Is there any truth to this pressure theory?

do it it wont do anything but give you better air flow to the stock filter

I don't see a problem with it, I say "DO IT"

I've had mine with the stock box for awhile with 0 problems.

Granted 7.3 v.s. 6.0, but still, DO IT

That's what I thought....I couldn't understand the whole pressure issue concern and what he was getting at. More air can't be a bad thing

THE only issue ive heard of with the zoodad is where it snows heavily may clog the hole but that can be remedied with a piece of screen

i can't understand the pressurizing thing either. do it. if you look at the spot on the radiator support, the intake is already there, it's just not open. but air still flows through there. all you're doing is making a hole for it to flow easier right? make the hole and you'll be fine.

Go ahead and do it. I did my friend's last week and he sees a huge diff in power and pick up. A piece of screen might help ease your mind.

What good is a zoodad gonna do a 7.3, unless he does it on the side of the truck.

What benifits would a Zoodad do for a 2005 6.0 with an Airriad intake?
Also is it safe?
