Will an early 99 7.3 long block bolt into an 01 truck without to much trouble?
Hello
Is there any reason an early 99 engine would not work in an 01 truck? If i just use the long block everything should swap over correct? Are the intake housings? (what bolts to the head) a different tube size? Hope that made sense. Will the early 99 injectors run with the 01 computer/idm? Thanks Last edited by DENALI; 03-05-2013 at 12:31 PM. |

Intakes are completely different...
Are you using 01 turbo and pedestal? Going to need those intakes as well. Turbo, pedestal, intake, intake spider thing, some downtubes, and some uptubes. All will cause you problems as far I know. Maybe even the intercooler tubes as well. IIRC my late model 99 looks like they are different shaped. I don't have my injectors yet and the later computer seems to work just fine. Got mine from a yard and installed just to see. |
