My 01 F-350 w/ auto trans had 85K miles when I got it 2 years ago. Now it is close to 95K. I am getting ready to do some more in depth maint.
I see alot of threads about different rear ends and front ends using different oils and friction modifiers. How do you find out what axles you have & what oil to use?? Here is my list I am going to get done in the next 2 months. Is there something else missing that I should look at? #1- Cange fluids in front & rear axles #2- Flush radiatior & coolant system install ambulance style hose & thermostat #3- Tranny filter and fluid change #4- Transfer Case fluid change #5- EBP sensor & tube clean/replace |

You should consider adding a coolant filter,if you don't have one already.Dieselsite.com sells an external transmission filter kit with a spin on filter. It plumbs into the transmission cooler lines."Double filtering" the fluid may extend the life of your tranny. Here's another website that has lots of good information: Welcome to guzzle's Ford PSD Maintenance Web Page
