Engine Controler/PTO Mounted Generator

My 02 came with a factory kit to control engine idle speed. It is still in the box and has never been installed. The booklet says that it is supposed to be used if the truck has items pulled off of the PTO on the side of the ZF6. Is there any advantage or will it have any use by installing it? The truck is a stock dually pick-up, and is mainly used for transportation, sometimes towing a trailer. I am thinking about installing one of those 12KW generators that pull off of the PTO. Thanks in advance.

It will give you the ability to set your idle at any speed you desire. High idle is nice on a cold morning or even a hot summer day when you need to keep the a/c compressor spinning a little faster. If you install a generator you will need it to control your rpm.

Hi Matt, Thanks for your answer. If I do the generator, I let you'all know how it turns out. Charles.

Hi Todd, Thanks for the offer, but I think I will hang on to it. Charles
