just pull it off the turbo and plug it on the stud of the IC boot clamp..if you pinch it..it may split the hose or kink it ..it will not work again if you ever want it back on...

noise

I plugged my red line to the waste gate about a week ago. Seemed like my truck ran better and as stupid as it sounds my truck has less injector noise. I figured I was dreaming so I hooked it back up and the diesel noise got louder again. Seems like there would be no connection between the noise and the waste gate???? Would something else be wrong. It has been below 10 degrees here and when the waste gate line is plugged the truck is not as loud. When it is hooked up the truck sounds like a real cold diesel should.

hmmm ...that's a new one on me..ill have to try that..I know with it working stock.. the west gate will start to open at 5 psi...could sound a little different at that point..but I wouldn't think it would change at idle..

gate

It is kind of nice with less Knock just wondering how it could be connected and what else I might have wrong. It is less noisy through the whole RPM range. I think it sounds like it did when it was new on a warm day only it has 120K miles and it is cold out. I get to 50 MPH and it sounds like a gasser and it's running 1400 RPM in over drive. I have no boost gauge so I don't know where it is at on boost. Could the waste gate be stuck open or something. I tried to turn it by hand when I did the disconnect and it wouldn't move. It seems to have the standard non modded 7.3 power. Throttle response from a dead stop seems a little better with the gate red line plugged.

if the wastgate is still hooked to the canister..it takes at least 5 psi of air to make it start to open..

Hi Guys, Newbie here. I disconnected my waste gate today at work. I did as recommended, I pulled the red line and stuck it on one of the clamp bolts. Then I put a small piece of rubber tubing with a bolt in it on the gate nipple. On my way home I got into the peddal a couple of times playing around. After the second time my check engine light came on. I pulled over and shut the truck off and reconnected the red line. The check engine light stayed off and I continued home. I checked the code with my SC 1705 and found 0238 Turbo Boost Sensor A Circuit High Input and 0478* Exhaust Press Ctrl Valve High Input (this one set the check engine light). Is this normal? Did I do something wrong?
