Time for a trans?
My Pap's 2001 F250 is beginning to have trouble he thinks. In the morning when the truck is cold (Been close to 32* most mornings here in NE PA) and puts it into reverse shortly after starting it, the truck will not shift into reverse. I know that you should let it warm up good before trying to take off with it (as I've tried to tell him repeatedly
) but he swears that it should shift. Truck has about 200k on the original auto trans. Thoughts? |

Re: Time for a trans?
200k miles on the stock trans? I surprised it lasted that long. Once problems start you might as well get it to a trans shop while it will get there on its own so you save the cost and inconvienience of a tow bill when it totally craps out on ya.... likely soon.
