7.3 upgrades

Hey, I am now the owner of a 2003 7.3. I owed a 6.0 but had to let that money pit go. I bought a f150 with 5.4 but not like my diesel. I recently found and bought a 2003 with the 7.3. I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. First it has the 4" exhaust system and I just added an air raid, guages and dp tuner. I got 17.4 without the tuner but lost mileage with the tuner. I think I need a different highway mileage tuner. Is there anything else I can do to get better mileage around town and highway. I know to keep the rpms below 2. The mileage is 230000 on the truck, could my cam sensor or something else need replaced or checked. Thanks for anyone's help.

How much mileage did you lose? What tune are you running in?

What kind of fuel are you running? winter blend, bio...

Egt's, boost numbers.. Could be an exhaust leak, might not be tune related.

You could give the ol' EBPS tube a cleanin. Check on here or you tube for a how to. Free and simple maintenance project

dont think the cps makes much of a diff on fuel mpg i was hoping it would help mine out and it didnt i switched from the crappy grey to a black delphi it seems to idle better and maybe run better hard to tell forsure though

I went from 17.4 stock to 15.6 with the 80hp econ tune. I am running reg diesel. I have tried different stations looking for a better quality but all seem to be around the same in mileage per gallon. I will be checking the ebps this weekend. Thanks

In my original post I made a statement of keeping the rpm's below 2. I don't floor it to start or get to myp cruising speed. I think I will try a 60hp tune
