1999 F350 7.3 ext cab

I looked at a 1999 F350 ext cab short box 7.3 pickup today it has 117,000 miles looks and runs great. Is $11,800. a good price for this truck? Are there any common problems with this year. thanks.

It sounds like a good truck see if you can get an oasis report on it though. Price is good check to see if it has been wrecked.
One thing I would do is check to see if the compressor wheel shows signs of wear.

That does sound like a good truck. Is it an old body style or new?

99 should be the new body style. Is it an early or late build 99? The early build 99's had some airbox issues that would allow water to enter the intake system. The airbox i believe took air from the left fender. The updated one took air from the grill.

my early 99 has 244,000 it has been a great truck I us it for work and pull anything from a 20' dump bed trailer to equipment (trackhoe, skidsteer).
90,000 cps failed
around 110,000 water pump
100,000 and 200,000 transmission (I believe now it was the dumpbed and no gauges) I drove it very very hard when pulling
230,000 idler pulley assemble

That is it other than of course maint. items (batteries, etc)

Talking

Well I bought the truck today. I traded my 97 F350 5 speed in for it. Again it is a 99 F350 EXT cab 7.3 automatic 4x4. I love this truck it runs great right now and it is all stock. It is an early 99 but I really like the body style much better. I talked them down to $11,000. I will try to post pics asap. I think the first upgrade I am going to do is exhaust. I really like the stack look behind the cab. What some other good moderately priced go fast goodies do you guys recomend. thanks.

Smile Early 99's are Great!!!!!!

Glad you like your new truck. I have an eary 99 also and really like it. I've had mine for about 2 years and have put a few parts on. Just do the service and up keep and enjoy. Check out the Napa cold air system and replace that stock air box. I done mine and it lets them get air like they should and you know the dirt can't get in. I also chopped my cat and muffler and just installed a staight pipe. What comes in must get out HA!!! Made mine run a lot better and helped the fuel mpg. Good luck
