Guys thanks for all the imput i guess im going to give it one more chance i went to look at the gmc 8.1 and my truck with 94,000 was 10 times cleaner than a 04 with 28,000 on it. But pretty about my autos. Im going to open it up over the next couple of months and see what it can do.

Duramax headstart?

I have a 2001 F250 4x4 with 4 inch turbo back exhaust, superchip tuner and K&N intake. Duramax trucks don't even come close!
15 in town 20 on the highway (empty) and it'll tow my 31 foot travel trailer anywhere I want to go.

+1 on keeping your early 99. I love mine. Great power and great fuel mileage considering the weight and power!

Keep the stroker!!!!!!!! I've gotta admit, every time i hit the starter i get this warm fuzzy feeling.LOL.It's a real diesel, and it sounds like it too.I looked at a gasser before i bought my '00.But i'm so glad i got the PSD.It has it's little quirks here and there, but when i put my foot to the floor and that garett ball bearing turbo begins to scream i somehow forget about all of that.

Keep it, get a few upgrades and you will be happier than you ever could have with the 8.1.

keep the psd!! my 97 automatic was real sluggish... put on a DP Tuner with 80/120 hp, the 80 hp is always on... it definitely woke up my truck! really smooth too... look into it

Here is the real deal...
Powerstroke/blue oval = meant to work.
Bow tie = opera
Do I need to say more?
