Turbo

Can any one tell me what the size is on the stock turbo for the 2001 7.3? When I bought the truck, I was told that its an upgrade turbo and its hitting about 18-20lbs of boost @ WOT.

thanks guys. How well will the truck take it if I turn up the boost another 5 or 10lbs or os that not a smart idea? If I can do it, how would i go about doing it? I know on a gas engine you can add a boost controller.

buy a chip/programmer and it will add more fuel and increase your boost.
some good guys that sell custom chips for these trucks are
tony wildman, beans, gearhead, php, dp tuner.

also with elevated boost levels you may experience "surge"
this puts a lot of stress on the turbine and shaft. so if you get surge
you can either get the a wicked wheel 1 or wicked wheel 2, dieselsite sells these
or a 4 inch ported compressor housing ats or usa. riffraff sells these

if you want to know what surge sounds like type it in on youtube or even on here.
