Does my 01 7.3 have the 4r100 HD???

Hey guys I have a 01 f250 7.3L,the trans was replaced at the end of 09,has about 40k on it now. What Im trying to figure out is when did Ford start only offering the HD version? I think it was sometime around 2009-2010? It would be GREAT if it did have the 4r100HD!! Thanks

03 was the last yr for the 4r100. HD is only available if you purchase it directly from a ford parts dealer. I do not know all the details, but I thin the later(02/03) 4r100's have some minor upgraded parts compared to the earlier versions. As far as I know, there are not any trucks from the factory that came with the hd version.
the 6.0l have a 5r100 I believe and I am not sure about the newer trucks

Yeah in late 03 they went to the 5r110 which came behind the 6.0L/6.4L all the way to til 2010. The truck was showing that ford replaced the trans in the later part of 2009,which I believe somewhere around there ford stopped the standard 4r and went with the HD. Does anyone know when ford stopped the standard 4r100 as a ford replacement trans?

Ford still offers the 4r100 and 4R100HD remans... it should be stamped on the tag on the tranny.

Where would the tag be located at on the trans?
