If you cant get it out by adjusting the gear box and all the steering is tight, just replace
the gear box. Ive replaced several in our shop.

Canadian trucks might be built with a Allen on the box and the U.S. trucks might be built with a torx, eh. Or it could be a year difference. And I thought I read somewere that your truck is a Canadian truck and I just wanted to confirm.

Yah, I try to stay away from autozone and Murrays I have had some crappy parts and even worse service. I know this isnt true for all of them but most of the people that work in these places just dont know any more then they have to, to work there.

my 00 truck is a Canada truck its a allen, had a 02 USA in the shop it was all my dads old 00 USA was a allen. remember u can put a torx bit into a allen head and it will work i have done it many times when ur tools go missing in the shop.

i redid all the steering stuff in the front end of my truck and my steering was still alittle lose and i just tightened my gear box like a 1/4 turn and its not the greatest but its better.

So I turned the Alan screw about ¾ of a turn and that made a huge improvement, but there is still some wander. Can I turn the screw a little more? Sounds like a full turn is all that I can do from the searching and from this tread. How close to a full turn will hurt? My ¾ of a turn is an estimate and I might be a little over or maybe a little under..

What is this screw actually doing?

If I go to far will my front end fall off
