Can u rebuild a hub assembly
I bought one from rock auto, the old one looks like it can be rebuilt with new bearings. Just wondering, I have put a lot of new bearings in old wood working machines in the past. Here is a pic of the one I took out.

They are not rebuildable. The only part you can replace is the needle bearing that the axle shaft rides on.

So why aren't these rebuildable? Are they welded together after the bearings are installed at the factory or something? I haven't had to replace mine yet so I haven't ever taken a look at them.

Re: Can u rebuild a hub assembly
They don't have an outer race to press out. The race is actually part of the casting. Realistically you can replace the other half of the bearing if you want but nobody knows exactly what the preload is supposed to be.
