03 250 steering

Having early wear on steer ball joints, 1ST ONE LASTED 180,000 Klm, have had 2 more fitted in last 5000 klm. Ford says that their new rods have 2 - 3 mm of wear from factory, but after fitting there is a knocking noise through the steer wheel, Ford Aust have checked it and said nothing can be done. Any clues or has any body had similiar probs
