difference in PCMs

i am wondering if there is any difference in PCMs between 99-03 ? i heard theres somthing different about the motors between those years but i dont know much about it...

i need to put a new PCM in my 02 and i can get one from a 99, just want to know if its the same or w/e

You have to remember though that the PCM isn't just for the engine, it's a Powertrain Control Module. There's a code (4 character) on the label where the connector is. You should really try to match that code. The differences in transmissions and chassis configuration as wells the Huge difference in the electrical system between a '99 and an '02 means it's never going to be "right"...

That being said, I'm not really sure it wouldn't work in some manor, might run the engine fine and be a good test for you to confirm yours was bad. I've just never tried

i think ill try it.. if not ill prolly just bring it to ford and see if they can "reflash" it
