Parts Truck?

I have the opportunity to pick up a 02 ccsb lariat for 1500 bucks possibly lower. it was rolled and the guy said the body is pretty junk and theres no drivetrain but he said the interior is good other than the headliner, it has 6 in of lift and 2 good aftermarker rims. he has both axles that he said were good and so was the frame. Its 3 hours away so i would have to trailer it or have it towed

So basically i want to get just the seats but he wants to sell the whole truck and part/sell/scrap the rest of the truck. What do you guys think i could get for it minus the seats, would i make money, break even or be out the money for the seats?

How bad is the bed? Lift? Too bad yer halfway across the country. Id offer to haul it in return for some parts...

I posted pics he sent me idk if you can see them but thats all i know im gonna look at it friday. He said the body is pretty junk. By the looks it just rolled once so the the lift should be good. basically i just want to know how much could i scrap the truck for if worst case i cant get any good parts

in my local the chassis is probably worth only a couple hundred bucks in scrap metal. generally about a half a penny a pound. call up a local recycler that takes cars and ask them how much a ton they are paying for scrap cars.

Yea thats kinda what i was thinking but im gonna get a great set of leather seats outta the deal so as long as i make a couple hundred on selling/scrapping it i will be happy.

I'd be happy enough with getting a free set of perfect seats, but that is a lot of work parting it out... But the seats are easily a few 100 saved. It looks pretty bad from the pics. I think the axles should be $500-750 for the set, maybe more. Few 100 for the lift if it's not damaged. I've seen frames for sale for a long time for little money. Maybe $1-200. Plus rims and all the small stuff.


I assume the tires aren't good anymore?

I would be interested in the lift for the right price, if it wasn't damaged. And maybe the lower half or so of the front doors (driver door mainly)

Yea i understand its gonna be hard but like you said id be getting pretty much free seats.

I think the front two are trashed but he said 2 were good.

I hope the lift is good i asked what happened and he said it rolled once and slid so id imagine it would be good

That ain't worth to even close to $1500. Imagine how long you'll sit on that before people buy the big parts ti recoupe the money you have in it. As give him scrap price for it. Around $400-600 bucks
