Transmission acting

Well my early 99 transmission seems to be acting up the last couple of days. When driving the other night I was on a long straight coming home from my buddy's,so I figured I would stretch it out. When it shifted in to over drive it rev'd up then hesitated to get in gear. The next day drove it did the same thing when getting on it in any gear . The truck has 17900 miles on it and it still has the rattling tq the early99 is known for. I had planned on putting a JW tq and vb in it soon. But does it sound like it needs a rebuild or could it just be something in the vb causing it to act up? Also when driving around normally it shifts like it always has. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Transmission acting

One thing to try that I've had luck with is the jb trans lube. One bottle eliminated slippage for good in an old truck. Cheap step to take before what sounds like a definate rebuild.
