Backup light wiring off 6 speed.
in the door pocket I found a 2 plug wire harness with about 5 inches of wire coming out of it. (2 wires) When I was talking with the 1st owner he said that's to the back up lights, it got ripped out of the transmission. (didn't say how). Today I got under the truck and this plug just plugged into the back of the transmission. I could see the wiring bundle where they got torn out of and spliced them together. My back up lights now work... but..
About 12 inches off that plug the wire bundle Y's in to a bundle covered with that plastic wrap. One continues on into a bundle of wires (about 5 or 6 and the other part of the Y is just 2 wires. Couldn't tell the colors, but they looked green. I looked, and looked and can not find where to splice those wires back into. I have back up lights now, but I'm sure those 2 wires (about 12" off the tranny plug) go some where and suppose to do something.. My worry is maybe a heat sensor?
Tomorrow I will splice into them and see when they become hot, if only in reverse, or never or?
Anyone have an idea what those two wires go to?
