7.3 eating an squeaking belts

my dads 7.3 keeps eating belts.started 2 yrs ago after we replaced the water pump.starts by squeakin then eats one thread at a time.since then we have replaced all the idlers the alt. and replaced the water pump with oem ford. we tried all different types of belts an check the aliment with a straight edge and a level an everything checks out straight. any help will be greatly appreciated.Cuz i have pulled my hair out on this one!!!

look at the tensioner. They commonly fail, and eat belts like you say at about 100-120k. The only think you can see is the air gap between the part thats closest to the block and the part outside of that (the two pieces that hold the spring internally together" gets distorted...with one side having more airgap than the other...

i check that an replaced with brand new ford one an still did it about a 100 miles later

Something is out of alignment. Perhaps a welding rod or straight edge across the end of the pullies you may find something bent or loose?

about two years ago mine was doing the same thing it was not long and the vacuum pump went out. you have check the slop on all pullies with the belts off and on. It sounds like something is coming out of aliment the more torque the motor is under.hope you can solve problem soon and with out to much expense.
