Staggered Rear Shocks

Has anyone ever moved the passenger side rear shock to the front of the axle? I tried to do it last night but apparently the 05+ trucks must have slightly different mounting bracket as I could not get the shock to fit without hitting the sway bar. The only location it would fit placed it at too much of an obtuse angle to the axle. I really want to reduce axle wrap and my 35-40mph bed hop and noticed the 05+ trucks I have been in don't have this problem so I have to assume it's due to the staggered shocks. If anyone has done this I sure would appreciate some input.
