Is the Stancor relay worth it?

OK guys I'm having a trouble with my 7.3,,, glow plug relay is gone again this is the 3rd in 5 years 1 Napa and 2 OEM. Is there something else I should be checking? It is an 02 with 96k on it, only gets driven a couple of times a week. Batteries are 2 years old and load test good with my crappy load tester. I can only find older posts on the Stancor relay and it left me wondering did I miss, 1: it's common knowledge that i should have one already? Or 2: they were causing problems and I should stay away?
any help would be great. I spend most of my time on the 6.0 side of this forum because I never worry about the 7.3 truck don't rat me out over there

Re: Is the Stancor relay worth it?

I have the stancor on my red truck. For what they cost and how much more huge they are compaired to the stock one, I wont waste my time or money on a stock relay.

It was a high of -8 here yesterday so I skipped dinner (so the motor could cool completly) so I could see if it would actually start as I had help if it didn't. Waited 45 seconds and lit it. Didn't start any harder than if it was 50 out. I'm impressed. Wish I had done it ten years ago.

The Stancor relay is the best mod I have done to my truck bar none... truck starts down to zero (about the coldest it will get in SE Mass) unaided no problem. Worth every penny.

Your friend got taken and taken hard. Currently listed for less than $62 + s&h at allied elect.
