Chip question..

New to the site... Names Josh, ( Carpenter from North Carolina) I was wondering a few things.... First I have a 2002 Powerstroke with about 200k on her. Mostly highway miles always maintained for the best of my knowledge. If I chip it will it cause me any problems. I was also wondering about exhaust, looking to install a 4" was wondering Cheapest place to order from... Believe i'm going with mbrp for sure

Well you will need to get supporting mods like gauges so you can keep an eye on everything, intake and exhaust. I dnt know what you are looking at as far as a chip but if it has been taken care of it shouldnt hurt anythng but you need those supportings mods.

it wont hurt anything as long as you dont go crazy with it.... i would first get yourself a set of gauges so that you can monitor what your engine is doing... then i would get intake, exhaust and a tony wildman chip.... let me know if i can help you out in any way... i can create a package deal for everything if you like

Yeah I figured I would have to add the gauges at the same time. I'm going to install the exhaust, and air intake. The chip will have to wait with the price of the gauges and chip plus installation sounds pretty costly.....

the chip is very easy to install... wont take you more than 30-40 min to install it.... the only hard part of the gauges is drilling and taping the monifold for the EGT probe... everything else is just wiring...

yah the 4"MBRP is an excellent sound exhaust kit... not only that but its one of the best fitting kits too...

I am just north of you in Mt Airy, as already said you need to do the supporting mods first. The first thing should be gauges, if you have a auto trans you need boost, trans and pyro you can get the best price at www.kensperformancesolutions.com tell Ken, Kevin sent you, the gauges will form a baseline so you can see how all future mods affect your powertrain. Next is intake/exhaust/ VB for trans and only then would I be adding more ponies. If you have any ? feel free to PM me.
