7.3 Oil Pan Replacement?
is the only way to change the oil pan by removing the engine?
looking for some insight. thanks |

You either have to pull the engine or the transmission,
|

|||
|
In order to do it correctly the engine has to be removed and turned upside down for the sealant to cure over night. Is yours rusted? Many have fixed this by fibeglassing the pan. I would do soemthing before I paid someone $1500-$2000 on a oil pan. Not one of the smartest designs by Ferd.

IIRC there was someone on here or The Diesel Garage that did it that way a while back

there's no way to get the pan off with the engine still in the truck.

I think it can be done, but its not the recommended way of doing it because of the sealant. I don't know it first hand only from what I have read that it has been done that way
