Well, I've not actually taken the computer out yet. There are two 9/32" screws holding the black cover over the computer. I'm guessing you take those out and take the cover off and then take the computer out right. Do I need to take the whole computer out of the truck or can I take the cover off w/ it still under the dash?

I just pulled my computer and found that the guy that had it before did have a chip in there that I did not know about. Kind of cool. But I put the TS 6 pos chip in and it is alot better. Also I am wondering if that maybe why my fuel milage was not as good as I hear alot of them being. Anyway, I did not have to take the computer all the was out. You should just beable to take of the black cover and see if there is anything over the circut board. It will fill up the hole that is there if there is a chip in place. Hope this helps.
