Truck wreck blues

ok there are some idiots out there who decide to swerve into my lane and slam on their brakes for a cardboard box that "levitates" out of the bed of a pick up truck far ahead. long story short, that lady got a lil whiplash when the superduty pounded the hell out of her durango. problem is that my truck has been in the shop for 3 weeks now and the mechanic keeps telling me its almost done, but just about every time i talk to him he has to move the date back again. this time he says the airbag light is on so he has to take it to the dealer, he also said that the body work is pretty much done. the bags didnt deploy during the wreck. how much trouble does anyone think this little airbag light is gonna uncover? mind you the light wasnt on immediately after the wreck but only after they replaced the parts.

I would be paying a visit to the shop to see the progress myself. As far as the air bags go they take those things pretty serious, not sure why the air bag light would be on if they didn't deploy. If you did that much damage to the truck why didn't they deploy? I would be asking the body shop dude some specific questions.

I know that when i hit a deer in my 97 chevy the air bags deployed, but was told that if i hadn't slammed on the brakes they wouldn't have. It had something to do with an inertia switch being activated when I hit the brakes and then the bags deployed when I hit the deer. My body shop told me my truck would be ready in 7-10 days and to call them then, they pushed the date back a week each time I called finally got it a month after the fact. My dad worked at a bodyshop as a kid and told me before I took it there it would take a month, so I had a heads up but it was still frustrating.
