OVERDRIVE LIGHT

I went out today and started my truck it was 39 degres out and my overdrive light was flashing on and off i tried pushing the button and didnt do any thing so i backed the truck up a bit and put it in drive and pushed the button and it stoped flashing. Anyone know what was wrong with that today

cruise light

i had the same problem, and i changed out the speed senor on top of the rear axle. $26.00 at napa

could be the speed sensor in the rear axle or one of the 2 in the transmission.

The OD light blinking means you have a driveline code. Get the code read and you will have your problem. If the VSS is bad the speedo will usually jump. You could also pull the senor and clean it, this works sometimes, but don't start buying any parts until the codes are read.

my truck does the same thing some times, like i will start it and the overdrive light starts flashing and it is kinda gutless but when i pull over and kill it then restart this usually fixes it....also when i get into the throttle very much a light on my dash comes on in the shape of an engine.... any idea why???

yea, the od light is the "check engine light" for the trans, and most code readers will read a code for the trans. like nshornet said, get the code read...could be just that the trans slipped....the torque converter is notorious in the e4od for going bad...

i got my codes read today and it said that the pressure control solenoid short circut "A" does any1 know anything about this also wastegate control valve
