dumb question
Hi yall, I'm new to the forum, and I love it so far!
here is my dumb question: I have a 2000 f-350 (with the 7.3 obviously), and I was wondering if I take the catalytic converters out, would that make my fuel economy tank? my brother did it to his gasser, and that is what happened. Also, I was wondering if this would effect back pressure. I have been told that there is now need for back pressure on a turbo'd diesel, and i have heard the opposite as well. thanks for any help, Brad |

dumb question
Your turbo provides all the back pressure you need. Last week I went to a turbo back 4" straight on my 2006 6.0L and my mpg actually went up 1.5-2mpg.

TulsaDave is right, I'm not sure why you posted this in the 6.0 forum though. Nevermind!

You will see an improvement by removing cat and muffler but can't give exact numbers cause every truck is different.
Why wouldn't his truck have a cat? My '94 had one...HAD one lol |
