7.3 into high 13's
I have been doing a little research and was trying to figure out what kinda mods I would need to run in the high 13's in a 1/4. I have a 4wd extended can short bed. As of now just have 4" turbo back exhaust and superchips programmer, any ideas or suggestions? Also just did gauges last week.

Engine:
Injectors(DDP, Full Force, Industrial Injection - your choice.) GTP-38r or H2E turbo, Water-Methonal and/or Nitrous (won't recommend propane unless you do the water/Methonal for sure.) Oring'd head (heads recommended but not required) and gaskets and ARP or H1 studs. Make sure you have a forged rod setup. (optional items, 6.0 IC (or other aftermarket), AFE Blade Runner or CFM+ intake manifolds) Then - Tuning for all the above... EDIT - forgot to add in the HPOP upgrade. Trans: Built stage 1 or 2 trans of some kind, and torque converter(ATS, Suncoast, etc...) I have been thinking about the bladerunner itakemanofold, are those worth the money? That was the next thing on my shopping list.

And I have a 01' so not so sure I have the forged rods.

just buy a sc/lb 6.4 and put a tune exhaust and intake on it and be done haha

Be happy with 13.9's lol not really 12's and would love to have a 6.4l but may have to wait for awhile! Haha I'm gonna try to make the 7.3 last until the 6.7l gets cheap enough to afford.. It's crazy of how much power the 6.4s make with minimal upgrades.. I remember being in one when they very first come out and stock seemed to run great!

it will be cheaper no doubt. you can pick up a 08 sc/lb xl 6.4 with around 100k miles for 10to 15 k depending on your area and put the 1500 dollar upgrades on it which is tuner exhaust and intake and run 13s and high 12 all day long.
