03 engine with rebuilt transmission and TC drain plug
As the title says I bought a spare 03 engine out of a ambulance. It has a rebuilt transmission (with tag) that looks like its only a few yrs old. Upon separating the transmission from the engine I noticed the torque converter had a drain plug. This kind of boggles my mind because it shouldnt have on from the factory and I cant find any information on rebuilt ones having them either.
Has anyone heard of anything like this? Im pretty sure the Ford dealership put the trans in I dont see why they would do anything out of the ordinary when replacing it. Thanks for the help! |

Why do you think it shouldn't have a torque converter drain plug? My 2000 has one, and I'm pretty sure it's the original transmission.

The factory torque converters do have a drain plug. Helps when flushing the trans as most of the fluid is in there.
