Straight Pipes with a turbo

I was wondering if straight piping can ruin a turbo. I have heard that it can and I have also heard that it won't hurt anything.

It actually helps the turbo life. (reducing backpressure, making it flow better, lowers the EGT's)

I did mine , an after market cone type air filter will help also work up my 7.3 big time
