being a 99 you should have forged rods, making your limit 500 or better IIRC

can probalby go to 500-550 from what I've read if you have forged rods (should if your truck is an early 99)

The early 99 is good for 500-550hp. Diesel innovations says 600hp on their website.

up til sometime in 01 I believe all the rods were forged....then PMR came along and limited the potential internal strength.

01 and layer had PMR rods which dropped the level to around 400 HP, there are quite a few riding this edge.
I would still want head studs above 400, but that's just me. Above 550HP I would be looking at a girdle as well. |

Powerstroke rods from 99-00 are Forged Rods and are good for 500-550. At that power level you really should get a better turbo and once you get over 43-45psi you are pushing what your factory heads can take, I would get them studded. And don't forget your motor, properly prepared, should be fine at 500rwhp....your stock trans not so much. I am building the transmission fund right now myself.

i would not push past 500 with forged rods.
