Think this would be a good upgrade?

Re: Transmission operating temp

That's just aV10 cooler. Bigger than ours though.

I made my Samsung SGH-I997 send this.

I have this. Most temperatures, unloaded usually gets me about 125*. Loaded is usually 150* in the middle of the summer, if I going slow through the mountains or behind a semi in the mountains it will touch 165* on super hot days. I freaked when it hit 165* on a 100* day behind a semi on a mountain road doing 25 MPH with a 6k load. Never saw it get that high before. I didn't have my guages before I did this install. Temps under 60* usually gets me 125* or less. When it's in the 30's it sometimes doesn't even touch the 125* mark.

My 2 cents
I had a lot of overheat problems with the stock trans cooler. If you are replacing anyways, go with the 6.0 cooler. It is the cheaper route in the long run, as the V10 cooler is just little bigger than stock.
Stock 9 rows
V10 13 rows
6.0 31 rows!

Transmission operating temp

I too can vouch for the 6.0 tranny cooler. I have both that and a deep pan and loaded with 9k on the trailer I saw 135-150 for a 700 mile trip from FL. The ambient temp didn't go above 50. The deep pan didn't do much but the BTS tranny I have also stays cool. In traffic I ran 150 give or take 10. 31 fin works fine.

I say just do the one you posted. I haven't seen much difference in temps posted by folks with a 6.0 cool and what my Tru-Kool runs. I have yet to see anything over 165* even when temps were over 100* and I was towing at least 9k pounds.

Plus, install is easier.

How is install easier with a V10 cooler than a 6.0 cooler? Both are direct bolt ins.

Tru-Kool: Remove front grill. Drill holes in support. Bolt in place. Run lines. Replace grill. Done.

6.0: Remove front grill, hood latch, 7.3 cooler and maybe A/C compressor bolts. Find all hoses and fittings you need if you didn't buy a 6.0 kit. Install 6.0 and run lines. Put grill and latch back together.

Took me 10 minutes to install the Tru-Kool and it was by myself. 6.0 takes a little longer. The other thing is, the Tru-Kool AUGMENTS the 7.3 cooler. The 6.0 replaces it. With the Tru-Kool I think you get more surface area for cooling because you have both items.

Also, the 6.0 cooler if I remember is about $300. Tru-Kool is $125. The end result is the same in my book but it depends on how heavy a wallet you have.
