What's this one going to cost me
So today my truck decided that the ac/heat blower doesn't want to work right. It only will blow out of the defroster on the top of the dash. It still blows warm and cold. But it won't blow out the main vents on front of dash or the floor. Have tried moving the switch in all positions. Turning on/off. Turning truck off. But nothing, any ideas?? I would like to fix this one myself if possible to save a buck.

Cant give you a cost but it sounds like either the vacuum pump is shot or you have a bad line somewhere.

sounds like youve got a line off or leaking. Open up your hood,on the passenger side all the way against the firewall your gonna have a bunch of lil hoses. Start lookin around. And also your vac pump will be right their as well. I forgot to hook up 1 lil line and I had the same issue you do. Hooked it back up and its all good.

Also check under the dash on the passenger side. My girlfriend rode with me and knocked a line loose on accident once and caused the same thing. There's a little valve under there and it's got a couple lines running to it.

Check the fuse first. Think it's 28. If your fog lights don't work there's your problem. Also turn key to start position and open hood, should hear pump running behind passenger side battery.

Also I didn't figure it was a fuse since it was still blowing out of the defroster.

If a fuse is blown it will not run the vacuum pump which I turn won't flop the little flippy thing to switch it from defrost to vent to floor. Check for vacuum leaks. Trace the line from the hubs to the pump. There are two identical lines coming off the vacuum reservoir. The other one heading towards the cab runs your defroster.
