03 7.3 Miss when cold?

Have an 03 198k on it. When its cold it has a miss but after it warms up for awhile it runs just fine. This would indicate an injector problem correct? It wouldnt be compression related would it? As additional information, this morning i started the truck and drove it (under 30 mph) for about 2 miles. it missed the whole time. I parked it, shut it off and went into a store for 15 minutes came out and started it and it was running perfect without a miss. Could the heat from the engine have migrated into the injector more while i was in the store causeing it to work just fine when i came back to it?

I see you live in Kansas. Not sure what the weather is out there but how cold was it? Also, what oil are you using (contributing factors)?

If it's a heavier weight, that will play into it. Not sure if that's exactly the culprit but heavier oil is like the thickest molasses in winter. Doesn't help our romping beasts I haven't told you anything you don't already know. Maybe somebody more mechanically inclined will jump on this thread.
