The Ford dealership in Madras OR always has some 6spds there. I test drove a 08 4dr sb there. I do have to tell a story. I went to a dealership and was looking at what they had and a salesman came up and did his speach and I told him I wanted a 4dr, longbox w/6spd. He says I do not have one. I go ok by. He goes I do have this. I say no. He says this is what everone else is driving. I go not me. He says I think you are confused because there is nothing out there like I am looking for. I go GOOD BY.

I think when it comes down to it your in control of a manual as were if you have an auto the auto is in control, kinda. There's times my truck pulling a trailer will scream at 3200 RPM and it won't shift and no matter what I do it won't upshift. Funny thing is on a good grade my truck pulling 6,000lbs will scream and go 50mph but the 1988 F250 460 5 speed pulling the same trailer cruises the same hill in 4th going 60mph. As the grades get steeper the diesel holds it's speed but the 460 will slow down to 45mph.

Rep it old school! Look for a '94-97' OBS with about 120K on it and drive it like you stole it! With an early 7.3 and a 5-speed (the 6's are only different in that they offer an extra low, not an overdrive), you would be hard-pressed to destroy the truck.

Ive already got me one of them! and Ive done a prety decent job of destroying it. (just kidding....... but not really)

I just cant stant the ride any more. I may be going in for back surgery soon and If I hit a pot hole I smack my head on the roof! + I cant wrestle the car seat in and out of the back end any more.

A buddy of mine just happens to have a 2000 CC 4x4 for sale. I think it is an XLT with a rubber mat floor because that is the way he ordered it. It is a manual with about 120,000 or so on it. Let me know if this is something that you are looking for and I can PM you his phone number. We are in northern Illinois though next to the Mississippi.

I told you that us Orgonain are not grannies. We like our handshakers. I almost think that OR has the only dealers that order manuals.
