I paid a little too much for it, but an extra grand is well worth the piece of mind that I'll never have a POS automatic leave me on the side of the road EVER AGAIN.

Just the other day I had a buddy of mine ask me "so if you had any amount of money to buy any truck you wanted, what would you get?". I looked at him and said "your riding in it.". And as far as how much effort is it to drive? I bought my 2001 crew cab long box
4WD from the cutest, blondest little 110 pound farm girl in Eastern Washington you could imagine. Garaged every night of its life until I bought it. She could shift it quicker and smoother than I ever hope to.

Shift on....

YOU BOUGHT MY TRUCK!!!!! no wonder i cant find one you bought the only one around! :fawkdance:

Really? You were looking at the truck from Waterville just north of Wenatchee?

Sorry you missed out! It's been a heck of a rig and as with any 7.3, a bargain at twice the price!

I have a 2000 Crew cab short box XLT Lariet with the 6 speed. I bought it off a widow, originally it was purchased by a 65 year old man who apparently didn't like certain options.

It was custom ordered without leather but has the power seat. It also has the trip computer. Manual hubs. He even ordered with with a tape deck

I love the truck, rowing gears is great. Sure its not as fast as some of the auto's but I have a race car already so Im not worried about that.

Thumbs up

I love mine! I also know of two others that are local to me. Mine is the xlt, but the others that I have seen are work trucks.

That is going to be hard to find. I don't think that was a common option. I think most buyers that are looing for crew cab and in the short bed are family/light work/ not much towing. Most 6spd are in long bed because they figure when somebody wants a 6spd they are getting it for work/towing so they would more than likely want the longbed as well.

I just picked up my 2000 crew cab long bed 6spd in Texas. Its an XLT with cloth interior. It would be impossible to find a Lariat in a 6spd. Look on Ebay in Texas, the Superduty is the official truck of texas, they outnumber the road out of any other vehicle!!! There is 47 on Ebay right now, but its the fact that the 6spd is more of a work tranny, so about 1 in 10 on the road is going to be a manual.
