I am not getting any response on my other thread so i'll try again. I just bought coolant test strips and i when i dip them they don't change color. Just wondering if im missing something? I am doing it by the directions on the fleetguard box, so i dunno.

Was there a seal on the bottle when you opened it? Also how many test pads are on the tip?

It came in a plastic pack that had 4 separate test strips with 3 pads on each one. They are the standard fleetguard strips. What bottle are you refering to?

The test strips work on the gold as well. There should be a experation date on the package of test strips. They only have a shelf life of about 6 months or so. Or you can switch to true ELC like Fleetrite ELC and never have to worry about SCA's for 300K. This is what I did and I am glad I did.

is that a new type of coolant or an additive?

We used Fleetgard also but the ones we use are in a bottle, not sure how many are in a bottle. We use Penray now works the same. The ones with three pads are for green, the ones with 2 pads are for the orange. You may have bad strips or if the pads are a brown or grey color it s weak.

the one pad for temp is right where it should be at about 30 below, but the nitrate pad and the other one (i can't remember what it is) don't change. The one should turn pinkish and doesn't. I tried testing before and after i added the additive and no diff.
