Remote Start for Diesels

I am in the market for a remote start for my truck. I understand some products have a WTS (Wait TO Start) feature? I am looking for suggestions and possible costs involved. If you have one or know someone who does feel free to chime in!

There are remote starts out there for us... it's just a time delay which I think some work off of the WTS light. I'm not 100% sure since my remote start is sitting behind my back seat waiting to be installed

I just had a Astrostart system installed for $265 at a local audio shop. The thing is awesome - can't remember what range it is rated for but I have been testing it expecting it to fail and it hasn't yet. They can program in the delay for diesels. I think almost any remote start can do that. They also can adjust the run times and usually set the diesels for a little longer warm up time but you can let them know how you want it programmed.

I just had a remote start with alarm installed. I think the brand name is astro start. It works great. They set it up with a fifteen secound delay for the glow plugs. I have used mine at 10* and it started right up. It also has a option to have the truck start its self when the motor gets to a ceritan temp witch works for me because i dont have a plugin for my truck.

The one I got isn't an alarm but it does work your doors so that you only need one key fob. I actually looked into it just to get key fobs because I didn't have the Ford ones. When I saw the price it would have been crazy not to upgrade to the remote starter. I figured for another $75 bucks or so I would try it. I love it now and it hasn't even been that cold yet. I'm sure it will be even more appreciated when it is like zero degrees here.

I wasn't too sure because I hadn't heard of AstroStart before like some of the other big names but I got it from a very reputable shop and they swore by them. Actually the only system they would install that was under $500. They had some other systems with monitors on the key fobs and your truck could page you to let you know what was going on but that was more than I was looking for. So far it has been wonderful.

we just put one in my early 99psd 6spd, I cant remember the name of it, but its primo!! when it gets down to a certain temp inside it will start the truck and let it run for a few to get it warm again. Has a turbo timer in it, and you can select how long you want it to run for.
