My bulldog remote starter cost me 40 bucks from Sams and its a breeze to install. I instaled one in my F-150 years ago as well as my girlfriends truck and i bought another one for my F-350 but it hasn't been installed yet.

Keep the ideas coming guys. The astrostart looks like a good one and I am not that far from a dealer!

are you looking for just a remote starter alone or one with an alarm and remote start together?

Just a remote start. I just don't want to walk outside of a morning to start the truck when it's cold.

astrostar and some of the other name brand remote starters are going to be the most expensive but they are going to have that longest range from 2000 to 3000 ft. Some of the cheaper remote starts will work just as well but most only have a range from 300 to 400 ft. just make shure that it has the ability to run a 15 secound delay and is able to read the tach signal so the engine will crank longer.

I bought my truck with a "code alarm" remote start and door lock/unlock... Works great and yes there is about a 10 second delay or so, not sure if it is adjustable...
