Bd builds custom trans for all the big 3 OEM models. These units are warranteed to 400RWHP and are bolt in units less converter which are sold separetly. warranties include parts, fluids, shipping, and guess what we even include LABOUR.
All units include alum.pan .We only make 1 model trans ,not different stagesof quality.Either build them RIGHT or don't build them at all.

WE do offer a race trans for the Dodge application that includes billet shafts, and custom clutchs. But this unit is not reccomended as a daily driver.
Are BD transmissions cheap? NO,but they do work and BD stands behind them nation wide with our warranty program.
Thanks for asking!!!!

As for helping your stock unit last longer, here are some ideas -

First, change out the stock pan for a Mag Hytec double deep. It will add 7 quarts to your capacity.
Second, replace the ATF cooler with something bigger.
Third, a valve body modification wouldn't be a bad idea at all, either a whole valve body or the parts to modify it yourself. not a hard thing for you to do if you know your way around your toolbox.
Fourth, fill it with a quality synthetic oil. Obviously, I recommend Amsoil. I use it in my race truck's auto and it is very good, durable fluid. Had a lot of good luck with it.

I think all of these plus the Superchips will help you get better control over the trans and help to address some of the things that typically take out transmsissions early.

They are kind of expensive I think, but well worth the added insurance of a cooler running tranny.

trans question

So would it be a good idea to replace my valvebody at the same time I uprade it, or just work with the one I have?

transmission

If you do everything that the other have posted on here and install a good transmission temperature gage and keep it the temperature below 200, the one you have now may last well past the 150,000 miles point.
If your going to have the work done by a shop I would use BTS.
