early 99 is it worth it?

one of the local dealers here has a early 99 F350 crew cab short bed 4x4 auto 123k miles

my obs has some major issues and i need a new truck soon

taking my obs on trade and payoff off they are willing to go $16,500 on the truck. I was really only wanting to pay 14 ish maximum of 15grand on this deal but they wont budge off the 16.5 is this truck worth it?

the only thing wrong with the truck is the power locks dont work and there are a few scratches in the paint.

any help would be greatly apreciated suposedly its on an online auction and i have to let them know by tomorow afterrnoon for them to pull it off the auction.

thanks
Mica

Sounds decent maybe a bit high on the price. If they won't budge tell them you want the locks fixed.

check the intake tube for dusting. I think the early 99's had a bad intake setup and would dust the turbo easy. Then they changed it in late 99. I think they could do a little better on the price. But its not bad.

I bought my early 99 PS for 13,500. I had scratches and very little cosmetic damage. I have had no problems with it and i have put on 30,000 miles. I would look for something cheaper personally. I have everything you wanted but long bed ext cab. I dont know if crew cab is more pricey, but 13,500 was what i paid for mine with less miles.

good point made about the dust in the intake. I took my old hose off the other day and I felt ashamed. It was nasty and I didn't even know it. Gonna get it fixed though. Either getting a brand new intake or new boot. Good luck with the truck and I believe since the crew cabs are a little more popular the price might go up a bit but def. get the door locks fixed. Its aggravating for them not to work. Mine dont
