CCV MOD....STINKS!! haha
Well I did the CCV mod. I had NO IDEA there was that much crankcase smoke coming out of this motor! No wonder the IC and hoses were so dirty! When my truck idles this big cloud of thick smoke starts forming out the side where the hose is routed and it stinks bad. Any ideas on how to tame it down a little? I'm in the process of getting parts together for building a canister to route it to but for now its venting straight out of the hose. I just hope it doesn't cause an oily residue to start forming all under and up the side of the truck.

You can route it all the way to the back. You are right, it does stink bad.

Route the tube to your exhaust pipe. DRill/tap it and use a barbed plug to hold the tube to it.

Mine exits by the leaf spring behind the front tire and I haven’t noticed a stink, before I built the engine it smoked pretty bad but now it just barely puffs if you look real close. It does leave a few black spots when I park it, the running it to the exhaust sounds like a good idea as long as you have an open exhaust with no backpressure. I really like having a clean and dry intake system so the mod is definitely worth it.

Yeh... it basically will end up looking like the normal smoke that exits the tail pipe! LOL.

Looks like a lil tiny exhaust tucked under my rear bumper!! I got that smell, but no oily IC boots anymore!! Mine (yet) hasnt dropped any oil on the ground. Been about a year too. Great "almost"free mod!!

I thought about running it into the exaust too, that way instead of just slowly building up and into a massive smelly cloud it's getting blown out away from the truck. I think I'll do that. Basically I'm gonna need to get a 3/4" OD section of pipe, drill a hole in the exaust, tack the tube in place and that should be it, I think I can handle that. I agree, this mod is definitely worthwhile. That's really strange though that some people smell it and others don't, mine is AWFUL.
