IDM

ok fella's trucks in the shop to get the plow removed,glow plug issue fixed.bad relay wire. and i told him to take it for a run because it idles funky at times and he did and it did it. So he does a few scans and gets IDM to ER code. Then they did a buzz test and it passes a buzz test any ideers?

id like to know the code number , it may not be your problem , most of the time idling concersn are more ipr or icp related

but why would it show that it is bad? IPR= Injector Pump Relay and ICP= Inect Contol pump right

that doesnt mean its bad , thats why id like to know the code

injector pressure regulator = ipr

injector control pressure sensor =icp

if the engine is running ok and just has an idle issue i doubt very seriously that the idm is bad

i would guess more of a fuel pressure issue , ipr o-rings , icp sensor , really needs correct diagnosis run

he just got into it when i talked he had just did the buzz testand the code today

the main thing im saying is just because it has a code for a certain part doesnt mean that part is bad ,we see it all the time , you might have a map sensor code for low boost , doesnt mean the map sensor bad , there is usually another problem, if that makes since , if the engine is running ok other than when you let off ,and buzz test passed , its very possibly not the idm, if you can get the code id like to know what that was , if he has a scanner that will read data id like to know what the ipr percentage is at idle , and what fuel pressure is
