need help

well my turbo needs to be replaced. and my ? is i have owned the truck for almost a year and replaced the trany, water pump, cps, brakes. I have though of going with a gtp38r and keeping the truck. but iam worried the injector pump will got next or worse the motor seeing how everything else that is major has gone. so iam looking at a 06 f250 27k or a new 6.4 tt. do you think i should replace the turbo and keep the truck( has 99k on her now) or get something newer? I put 30-35k a year on to.

I'd keep it. The water pump, cps, brakes are fairly normal stuff and the replacements should last you plenty long. The tranny? Well 4R100's are known to be a weak link when you throw bigger power at them, and from your sig I see you've got Jody's tunes. Also in your sig I see you've got yourself a built tranny now, so that's another plus. Its not too surprising that your stock charger went too, so upgrade it and drive the hell out of it and don't worry. If you're looking at a Garrett replacement, you should also look in to a Turbonetics ball bearing one as well, I've heard they're the cats meow. I think if you get a new turbo you'll wind up having the itch for big oil and injectors down the road too. That's a great truck you have there, and it seems like you've already got the ground work laid to make it in to a real monster!

Ok, now that I have your attention. Replace the turbo with either a GT38R or a TN BB. The injection pump you are refering to is actually called a HPOP. It will not puke on you. The stop working effieciently and turn into smokey pigs but that is another 100K down the road. If you get a 6 uhoh, you will wish you could have your 7.3 back, everybody else does.

99K on a 7.3 is just getting broken in, why would you want to bail on her? I would keep it for sure, you know what you have. The HPOP's have gone out but it is rare, so I wouldn't consider that much of a possibility. Sounds like you have done the proper mods for the tunes, and you have great tunes, so I would definetly keep it and make it the envy of the neighborhood!!
