Odd exhaust soumd on high idle

Hello all,

Not sure what's the issue, but when the engine is cold, it idles up as usual. Then the "whooshing" sound hits. (I know, insert blonde joke...). Once I hit the brake or accelerateor pedal, it idles down and no more weird sound.

The only mods are a Hypertech flash and 4" straight pipe.

Thanks for your help!

Here is a video of what its doing...

Your video is set to private.

It's the EBPV closing to help warm the motor. Some guys keep theirs, some guys delete it. It is working perfectly fine by how you described it. Just do a google, "powerstroke EBPV" search and you'll find out anything you need to know.

Cool thanks. Sorry about the video. It has been changed to public.

Glad to hear its not jacked up. I have to put $3k into her after I bought her (oil pan gasket, new ex manifolds, and Turbo was clocked out) , just wanting sure I did have anything else going on.

Nope, you're good to go.

Do some reading in the 99-03 section, especially the winter one and what to expect.

That sound is normal. Your EBPV is closing to let engine warm up

Yeah. Stupid me. After posting this question, I seen the sticky notes at the top of the forum page. I guess it helps to look before acting!

Thanks again for the help.
